How the credit system works

Credits reset monthly.
Unused credits do not roll over.

AI credits are the unit of account for AI tool usage on SprintUp Education. Every AI operation — generating a lesson plan, creating an exit quiz, differentiating an activity — consumes a specific number of credits. The free tier provides 7,500 credits per month, resetting on the first of each month.

750 credits are automatically allocated per active student per month — these cover student-facing AI tools such as personalised feedback and adaptive questions. The remaining credits in your monthly allocation are available for teacher-facing tools: lesson planning, curriculum generation, exit quiz creation.

💡The most credit-efficient tools
Exit quiz generation (50 credits) and differentiated activity generation (150 credits) deliver the highest teaching value per credit. Lesson regeneration (200 credits) is the highest per-use cost but produces the most significant improvement to teaching quality — prioritise it for lessons that consistently produce poor exit ticket data.
What 7,500 credits looks like in practice

A typical month of active
AI-supported teaching.

📊Monthly credit budget — 2 teachers, 8 active students
Student credits (8 × 750): 6,000 credits for active student tools: personalised feedback, adaptive questions, progress tracking

Remaining teacher credits: 1,500 credits for teacher-facing tools

Typical teacher allocation: 30 exit quizzes (1,500cr) OR 12 lesson plans (1,440cr) OR 7 lesson regenerations (1,400cr)

Total used: ~7,500 credits — stays within free allocation with typical mixed use

Schools that run out of credits quickly are almost always using AI for every tool at maximum frequency. AI is most valuable when applied to the highest-friction tasks — lesson iteration overnight and exit quiz generation before every lesson.

C1 has covered the free tier in full — what's included (A1), when upgrading makes sense (A2), and how credits work (A3). C2 walks through building your campus: setup sequence, school structure, and your public website.
